Well, that’s it. It has been a labor of love. I scanned the first magazine on Nov. 26, 2011 and the last one on March 23, 2012. There were a total of 92 magazines and 2987 images for an average of 32.5 images per magazine. The graph below shows the number of magazines per year.

Over the course of the 25 years (1958-1982) that are represented by these magazines the year 1968 stands out as having twice as many magazines as any other year and represents greater than15% of the total. This should not be surprising given the number of events that took place that year (my Bar Mitzvah, Florrie’s wedding, hank’s graduation & prom, plus a plethora of minor parties like New Year’s Eve, etc.

I thought it might be fun to select a few of the pictures that have not appeared elsewhere from a variety of the magazines as a fitting conclusion. Cars have played an important part of family reminiscences over the years. Far be it from me to ignore this vital influence in our lives, so here goes.

1970-Passover II #92

This magazine is mostly of Passover in 1970 which is also covered here. The Seder was held at our house and both sides of the family were there. To finish the magazine off, there are three more commercially bought slides from the trip to Madrid as discussed here.

1973-Untitled [Thanksgiving] #91

This magazine was completely unlabeled but judging from the ages of the people and a few other clues, I am assuming this is from Thanksgiving weekend of 1973. This same weekend has been covered here and here.

1968-August-Misc-90

This magazine was disappointing due to quality of the images. There are mostly pictures of Melissa or me hanging around the house.

[1976]-Prom #89

This magazine is mostly of Melissa’s Senior Prom. However, it is undated so I am pretty much assuming the pictures are from her senior year because the rest of the magazine has pictures from the infamous trip to Bermuda discussed here and here. Also, all the slides look like they are from the same roll of film, Ektachrome.

1977-Professor Hankie’s Party [Part II] #88

This is the second magazine from the backyard celebration when Hank became a professor. It was also discussed in the second post which seems like a lifetime ago…well it was a lifetime ago in terms of watching all the changes that have taken place over the course of these slides.

When I wrote that old post, I didn’t know how to routinely put multiple pictures in the post but there are lots of good pictures in that magazine as well. So there is a bonus set of pix from scan #2 on the second row.

1981-Len’s 60th Weekend and Party #87

This is the third magazine of my father’s 60th birthday celebration, it was also discussed here and here. These slides were clearly shot with a differenet camera as many of the same group shots appear in the other rolls. However, the underexposure indoors and the lack of a fill flash outdorrs make these pictures just as troubling.

1971-January Nassau #85

This magazine is another of 16mm slides from the trip discussed in part of this post. Because of the selection of pictures, I am dedicating this post to my parents’ long time friends Shirlee and Hy (may he rest in peace). My mother and Shirlee are friends from at least middle school when they formed a private club known as The Dancellas.

In addition there are three normal 35mm slides from an unspecified time, I am assuming it is 1971 as well. However, one of the pictures above can shed some light from someone who is better at recognizing infants than I.
