One of the chores I said I would pick up during my ‘transition’ was to scan all the slides taken with my father’s camera over the years when color transparency film was in vogue. 90% of all the pictures were taken by my father or by me. I started yesterday with a slide magazine labeled 1959-Flor’s 15th (Flor is my older sister) and here is a picture of me at the age of four (with the football) with my cousin Andy (may he rest in peace).
I like this idea of using the blog as a means to keep me interested while I scan all these slides. So, I will post a blog for each magazine with at least one representative picture, some musings, and who knows what else. Consider this post the introduction and stay tuned for the magazines as they come, I will use the labels of the magazine for the titles to each post. No problem if you choose not to follow.

Looking forward to seeing more pictures!
The fourth generation will definitely not understand ‘magazine’ in this context. (Not that ‘carousel’ would be any better…)
Maybe I should take a picture of a magazine and post that…
that would be a good idea. because reading your email earlier, and this, it took me like five minutes BOTH times to understand you did in fact mean an implement which holds slides. then again, not that anyone knows what a slide is anymore, eihter.
I see an entire entry dedicated to the various things that are referred to as ‘magazines’ or ‘carousels’.
Fred my sweet, you know how I love that pix of you and Andy but you might want to brush up on your spelling before yoo fourge ahed. FREDOM? Xxxxx
So sorry to disappoint but it is a deliberate play on words.
Fred
